Robert Williams - Godfather of Underground Art
With a masterful career spanning decades, Robert Williams has been a part of the most influential art movements of the past 60 years.
In addition to being one of the seven, original Zap Comix contributors, Williams' influence on alternative art is immeasurable. Williams played a key part in the hot rod world of Ed “Big Daddy” Roth; the underground comix scene; and as a visual component of the punk rock movement of the 1980s.
From his endeavors to broaden the possibilities for young artists to gain exposure sprang the well-known art chronicle, Juxtapoz magazine.
Last Gasp has published Robert Williams' work for over 40 years.
