    Wholesale Terms

    It's easy to open a wholesale account with Last Gasp and receive a 40% discount on your purchases. If you're interested, please read the information below.

    Terms and Conditions of Sale

    Minimums

    Your first order should be at least $200 net (after discount) and at least 10 items. To open an account, we will need to verify your status as a retailer.

    How to Order

    The easiest way to order is to fill your shopping cart and click the “wholesale checkout button.”

    If you prefer the human touch, we have four salespeople ready to assist you with your order, M-F, 9am-6pm, Pacific Time. Please call 415-824-6636, and ask to speak with the sales department.

    You may also place orders by fax (415-824-1836).

    MAGAZINES: The standard discount on magazines is 30%. Standing orders are available for orders of five or more copies of a magazine. See below for details on magazine returnability.

    Payment Terms

    All accounts start with prepaid terms. After placing your order, please contact our accounts receivable department by phone with your payment information.

    If you wish to apply for credit terms, please call for a credit application or fill out our online form.

    Terms are strictly Net 30, and payable by check. We do not accept credit cards for Net 30 accounts.

    Shipping

    Most US domestic orders ship via UPS, although Priority Mail is also an option. Unspecified orders will be shipped via UPS. We do NOT ship via DHL or media mail.

    For small overseas orders, we will help you decide the most cost-effective method if you ship direct. Many overseas customers use a freight forwarding company. Please let us know your freight forwarder of choice.

    Local accounts may make arrangements to pick up orders at Last Gasp.

    Backorders/Pre-orders

    Backorders and pre-orders are binding unless other arrangements have been made. Your sales person will contact you when a significant number of backorders have arrived.

    Order Fulfillment

    Orders are pulled, packed and shipped in the order received. Rush orders are possible, but may be subject to a $25 fee and will ship at the earliest possible opportunity.

    Order Revisions

    Orders may ship the same day they are placed, so any change in your order must be made as soon as possible by phone or email direct to your sales rep.

    It may go without saying, but orders that have already shipped out cannot be revised.

    Loss & Damages

    All UPS orders are sent insured. We pack our books extremely well so they will arrive to you in mint condition.

    However, damage or loss can sometimes occur. We are happy to provide any information needed for you to make a claim, but we need your help to make any claim.

    Claim Suggestions

    Please look over your packages carefully. If there is visible damage to the outside of the box, you must note that fact when you sign for the package or it is difficult to get credit for the damaged merchandise from the carrier. If you are claiming damages, YOU MUST KEEP ALL THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOXES AND PACKING MATERIAL FOR INSPECTION. NO EXCEPTIONS!

    If you do not keep the original boxes and packing material, there is little recourse.

    Rejected Orders

    If shipments are returned to Last Gasp unclaimed or refused, you will be billed for the costs incurred. A reshelving fee may apply.

    Shortages & Discrepancies

    Please claim any shortages immediately. Shortage claims and order discrepancies must be made within 10 days of receipt. Have the invoice number handy.

    Please note: on your invoice, TOS next to the item(s) means Temporarily Out of Stock. You will be issued a credit for that item which will be deducted from your invoice.

    We appreciate your honesty in reporting and returning any uninvoiced over-shipments. We will reimburse for freight costs; please enclose a note itemizing your costs.

    Returns

    We like to minimize returns. However, if you must return something, please follow these guidelines:

    Defects: Full credit is issued for books returned due to faulty printing, binding, or other manufacturer defects. This is only good for books returned within six weeks of our shipping date and must include the invoice number.

    Overstock returns: All overstock returns must be authorized prior to return and must arrive in MINT condition for credit. Any shelf worn, stickered, damaged or otherwise unsalable books will be returned to you and not credited. When returning overstock or damages, pack books tightly in a sturdy, new BOX, with lots of packing material for safe shipment. A 15% reshelving fee will be charged for overstock returns. No credit will be issued for overstock returns received more than 6 months after invoice date. Include invoice number with package.

    Magazine returns: Not all magazines are returnable. Please check with your salesperson if you have any questions about returnability. For returnable magazines, credit is only given for returns that make it to our warehouse within 30 days after the end of the magazine’s shelf life. No exceptions. Credit will not be given if magazines are not returned in the manner requested (full copy, cover, masthead).

    International Accounts

    All international orders must be prepaid.

    International Payment: We recommend using a credit card for prompt and easy payment. You can also pay by bank transfer. Be advised that bank transfers can take up to 10 days to appear in our account. We cannot ship until our bank has verified the transfer.

    Upon request, we will be happy to provide you with details on making a wire transfer to our account. If you pay by wire transfer, you are responsible for all bank fees. In other words, we must receive the full balance of your invoice in our bank account. No exceptions.

    International Shipping: We ship worldwide and can provide shipping quotes for UPS international and U.S. airmail. The U.S. postal service unfortunately discontinued sea freight and parcel post surface options in 2007. If you already have a preferred freight company, we are happy to work with them unless it is DHL. Mentioning your preferred shipping method with your order reduces turnaround time. Last Gasp cannot be responsible for your Customs officers limiting access to our products. Import taxes may apply – please consult your country’s regulations.
