777 drawings collected into one huge book!
Tomoo Gokita is one of the great artists representative of the current contemporary art scene —with passionate fans worldwide. Last year his solo exhibit was featured at the established Mary Boone Gallery in the United States, as well as a large-scale exhibit at Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art in Japan. His works of gouache on canvas show Gokita at his best —equally striking are his drawings depicting a wide range of images from pop culture, pro-wrestling, horror films, and various works of stylized geometric patterns. These recent original works have previously been displayed only in group shows, but now, compiled in 777 they are presented together with one featured drawing per page. This is his first book of published drawings since Lingerie Wrestling (Little More, 2000).
