The title translates as "When My Dog Died I Made Myself a Jacket." Not a standard graphic novel, this surreal, subtly-colored scratchboard art narrative is both profane and sad, with a quietly disturbing tone. Created over two years, from 2003 to 2005. From Anke Feuchtenberger, creator of "Die Hure H," "Mutterkuchen," and "La Petite Dame," part of the Berliner art group, and a Hamburg apprentice, whose work has been translated into five languages. Published by Coconino press, co-publisher of Fantagraphics' "Ignatz" series. Mostly wordless; what text there is is in German.
